Washington took full advantage of a New York team that is absolutely depleted by injuries on both sides of the ball.

Quarterback Rex Grossman showed proved to everyone that Mike Shanahan made the right call by naming him the starter.

Grossman hooked up with tight end Fred Davis on several occasions and avoided the costly turnovers that usually plague him.

The Redskins have a great chance to start the season 2-0 when they host the Arizona Cardinals next week.

Snyder bought the team when he was just 34 years old and admitted he had no idea how involved and complicated it was to build a winning franchise.

He believes he has come to fully grasp everything involved at age 46 and realizes that it is really the fan’s team.

He said that came into being an owner from a fan’s prespective, and that caused some growing pains.

The owner believes they are now heading in the right direction with Mike Shanahan as head coach.

The Washington Redskins used a strong defensive effort for a 19-16 overtime win over the Tennessee Titans.

Washington continues it’s unusual ability of knocking other teams quarterbacks out of the game by injuring Vince Young and forcing him to the sideline.

The Redskins actually had a chance to win the game in regulation, but kicker Graham Gano somehow came up well short on a 47-yard field goal attempt.

He had no such issues in the extra session, knocking home the game-winner after the Redskins benefitted from multiple personal four penalties.

With the Giants suddenly struggling, the win puts the Redskins right back into the thick of the division and also gives them wildcard hopes.

Shanahan said it wasn’t that McNabb wasn’t as good as backup Rex Grossman in the two minute drill, but that he had cardiovascular concerns.

In not so many words, Shanahan basically accused McNabb of being out of shape, which seems similar to what happened this summer with Albert Haynesworth.

It seems like Shanahan and McNabb aren’t on the same page and might not be each other’s biggest fans.

Several Washington players seemed confused by Shanahan’s explanation, which means an implosion could be imminent.

The Washington Redskins are confident that wide receiver Santana Moss will not receive any punishment from the league office.

Moss was recently linked to a doctor who was arrested on a number of different charges, some of them involving hGh.

It was quickly learned that the doctor had treated Moss at some point in his career, which quickly led to a rash of speculation around the wide receiver.

Moss has declined to discuss the subject with the media, saying he knew nothing about the doctor and that he would only speak about football matters.

Head coach Mike Shanahan said he has heard the entire story from Moss and believes that there will not be any suspension forthcoming.

Some of the best teams in the National Football League will visit the nation’s capital this season.

Coming off a 4-12 season in 2009, the Washington Redskins will face some of the league’s strongest foes at home this season.

The NFL has announced what teams the Redskins will face at home and on the road this season. Dates and times will be determined later.

Five of the Redskins’ eight home games are against teams that made the playoff last season. NFC East rivals Dallas (the defending division champion) and Philadelphia, which reached the playoffs as wild card last season, highlight the some schedule. Other postseason qualifiers from last season who will visit Washington are AFC champion and Super Bowl runner-up Indianapolis, NFC runner-up Minnesota and wild-card qualifier Green Bay. Rounding out the home schedule are contests against the New York Giants, Tampa Bay and Houston.

As far as the road schedule goes, the Redskins travel to Dallas and Philly, the only two playoff teams on the road slate. Trips to the Giants, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Jacksonville and Tennessee also are on the slate.

Washington’s schedule ranks eighth in the NFL, based on last season’s opponents’ win percentage.
